Q: Who owns and maintains Styron Square?
A: Styron Square is private property owned and maintained
by the Port Warwick
Conservancy. The Conservancy reserves
the right to control access, police and regulate the property.
Q: Where can one park when attending a
concert?
A: Limited
parking is available at Styron Square. Additional parking is available along
Herman Melville and Walt Whitman Avenues.
Alleys and the Turner
Building parking area
are privately owned. Parking violators
in these areas will be towed at car owner’s expense. Parking in commercial and medical facility
parking areas is at one’s own risk.
Q: Are restrooms available for use during the
concerts?
A: Portable
restrooms are provided.
Q: What is the concert cancellation policy?
A: Concert
cancellations are weather dependant.
Rain occurring after 3:00 p.m. the day of an event may result in a
cancelled event. Cancellations will
not be posted on the web site. The
Events Committee answering service will be notified if a concert is cancelled
(757-875-9351).
Q: What is the policy on consuming alcohol
during the concerts?
A: Port Warwick Conservancy has
an ABC license for private consumption of legal alcohol by those of legal
drinking age within the chained areas surrounding Styron Square during a concert. Attendees may bring their own legal alcohol
and consume at their own risk. Selling
of alcohol is presently not allowed on Styron Square during concerts. Port Warwick
Conservancy assumes no liability regarding the consumption of alcohol by
individuals at any of its events, but reserves the right to restrict alcohol
consumption by anyone.
Q: What is the policy on smoking tobacco
products during the concerts?
A: Smoking
is allowed on Styron Square. However, Port Warwick Conservancy reserves the right to
ask those causing a nuisance by smoking to extinguish any and all smoking
materials. Being respectful of other
attendees regarding second-hand smoke is requested. Those not respecting Conservancy requests
will be escorted from Styron
Square.
Q: What is the policy on erecting a tent or
hosting a gathering during a concert?
A: One
can set up a tent or host a gathering on Styron Square during a concert. Please set up in areas where the tent or
gathering will not obscure viewing of the band by other attendees –
usually towards the outer extremities of the square. Repair of damage to landscaping or the
irrigation system will be at the expense of the one hosting the tent or
event. No political, advertising,
fund-raising or other commercial event shall be allowed in conjunction with a
gathering unless specifically approved by the Port Warwick Conservancy Events Committee in
writing in advance of the gathering.
